Kate Stumcke is a sophomore at Lesley University majoring in Photography. Recently, she has been focusing on more fine arts photography, creating highly conceptual work based around personal events she has dealt with. She has always had a passion for photography and has been shooting since age 13. Starting out, she mainly did nature photography, but throughout the years have experimented with all different types, including portraiture, documentary, sports, fine arts, landscape, architectural and street photography. Through this exploration she found she has a special interest in documentary and fine arts photography. Where others see soulless architecture and dull surroundings, she tries to see interesting shapes and angles, interplay of light and shadow, juxtapositions of images and themes.
